TRAINING ON “VALUE CHAIN AND MARKET SYSTEM: UNDER AN IFAD PROJECT IN JESSORE OF BANGLADESH

Posted by Mashrufa Chowdhury - September 26, 2018

EDGE Consulting Ltd, a VCB-N member in Bangladesh carried out a 3-day long training on ‘value chain and market systems’ during 28-30 August 2018 for Rural Reconstruction Foundation (RRF) staff, one of the POs (partner organization) of PKSF implementing a value chain sub-project titled “Increasing Income Through Skills Development and Automobile Workshop Modernization Project” under IFAD project (PACE).

A total of 20 participants having different background and level of experience and expertise attended the training. Broadly, they can be categorized under three groups –a) the VC subproject implementing team members, b) core RRF staff from Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team, and c) core RRF staff from its Training unit. The diversity of the participants provided a wider spectrum for knowledge sharing during the training course as well as sets the ground for a more effective execution of the learning gathered and follow up points of actions.

The standard curriculum for the VCB-N training module is for six days. But due to client need, EDGE has to adjust it in a three-day time span. Besides, as the participants were from different backgrounds, training delivery was made in such a way so that the communication could reach all the participants. At the end, the participants shared their satisfaction with the training content and delivery approach. Finally, EDGE provided the client, as per their need, with a 6-month follow-up action plan.
