Roll-out training on “Market system analysis and intervention design to upgrade value chains of agricultural products” in Ben Tre province, Vietnam
In the period from September to October 2019, the Center for Technology Transfer and Services (CTTS) of Can Tho University – a member of Value Chain Capacity Building Network (VCB-N), conducted two training courses on “Market system analysis and intervention design to upgrade value chains of agricultural products” for staffs of AMD project and officers of Agriculture and Rural Development Offices of 8 districts including Chau Thanh, Cho Lach, Ba Tri, Binh Dai, Thanh Phu, Mo Cay Nam, Mo Cay Bac and Giong Trom in Ben Tre-Vietnam. The training courses were co-funded by AMD in Ben Tre and IFAD-RTN projects.
These courses aimed to enhance knowledge and skills of staffs of the AMD project in Ben Tre and district agricultural officers on value chain intervention design based on a throughout market system analysis. The training courses were among the series of roll-out training, conducted by VCB-N members after having been provided with TOTs by the IFAD-RTN project.
The first training took place on 18th and 19th September 2019 with participation of 12 district agricultural officers and 15 staffs of the AMD project in Ben Tre. The second one was held on 1st and 2nd October 2019 with participation of 5 district agricultural officers and 22 staffs of the AMD project in Ben Tre.
The training courses were evaluated by participants as successful, with well-prepared training materials, timing and proper integration between practical and theoretical sections. Given the interactive peer learning as one of the training methods, trainees had opportunities to discuss and share their knowledge and experiences and to learn from their peers.
