The VCB-N team attends a 3-day SECAP (Social, Environmental and Climate Assessment Procedures) Training Design and Planning workshop in Bangkok, Thailand for an IFAD-funded project SUSTAIN-Strengthening of Borrowers’ Capacity on Environmental, Social and Climate Best Practices. Our network’s Chairperson has joined the workshop as the co-facilitator along with other participants including our Vice-Chairperson, Coordinator and member organizations from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia and Vietnam.
VCB-N Coordinator’s team wins SECAP quiz test
SUSTAIN aims to raise awareness and strengthen the capacities of national ministries engaged in rural development to apply the SECAP and contribute to equitable, socially inclusive, and environmentally sustainable rural transformation. VCB-N is a key partner to Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation to design and implement training for IFAD’s Project Management Units (PMUs) to strengthen their capacities for the SECAP.
This workshop brings together all involved parties of SUSTAIN: IFAD SECAP experts, ESC consultants and PMU members, and is a crucial moment for the future of the initiative as they will validate the draft curriculum of the trainings in a participatory manner, test examples and methods, identify trainers and define the training participants, plan the roll-out of the training in the three regions: APR- Asia and the Pacific Region, ESA- East and Southern Africa and WCA- West and Central Africa; and kick-off the SUSTAIN Community of Practice.
